Editorial Policy

Werapo · Updated May 10, 2026

Mission

Werapo publishes readable film criticism that respects audiences—pairing technical vocabulary with humane observation across new releases, streaming catalog titles, and curated classics.

Independence

Advertisers, distributors, and studio publicity teams do not dictate scores, headline angles, or homepage placement. Sponsored modules—when they appear—are visually boxed and labeled distinct from editorial rails.

Scores & methodology

Ratings summarize editorial consensus at publication; alternate cuts or restored masters may warrant updates. We disclose screening context when relevant (festival, theatrical, streaming bitrate caveats).

Corrections

Factual errors receive dated notes at article bottoms. Interpretive disagreements belong in letters or follow-up essays—not stealth edits masquerading as the original judgment.

Conflicts

Financial ties that could influence perception surface in contributor bios or disclosure lines. Werapo contributors decline assignments where impartiality cannot be reasonably maintained.

Diversity of coverage

We deliberately route readers toward international cinema, animation, and genre fare alongside tentpole coverage—reflecting cinema culture beyond domestic opening-weekend headlines.

Harassment & safety

Readers and subjects deserve professionalism. Werapo removes abusive correspondence from consideration and may involve platform abuse teams when threats arise.
